Social Flu

Yesterday I found myself irritated.

I’d had a great day until several encounters started to shift my mood.

I had begun my day with zest, positivity and hope and here I was irritated.

I had caught a social flu. Infected by the mood and rudeness of others.

It got me thinking about the viral nature of rudeness and reflecting again on how critically important social intelligence is for every leader and every team.

How much energy are we all wasting just managing the bad manners and moods that unnecessarily have infected our working relationships?

The value of social Intelligence should not be underestimated.

It’s absence is a major barrier to success at work and in life.
