Give thanks

As I pulled a man away from stepping in front of an oncoming bus this week outside Park Street in Sydney’s CBD it was a moment of collective relief and reflection for a few strangers standing at the lights together.

The man thanked me and invited me to coffee and I was reminded of the importance of giving thanks, of stopping and resisting the pull of being too busy.

“IN all things we should try to make ourselves be as grateful as possible. For gratitude is a good thing for ourselves, in a manner in which justice, commonly held to belong to others, is not. Gratitude pays itself back in large measure.” Seneca

So I hope you too have much to be grateful for this year, this week and this day and for the year ahead.

Wishing you a safe and Happy Christmas and New Year.
