Cultural transformation

Culture is often described as “the way we do things around here.” But when left unattended, culture can drift, stagnate, or stop serving the strategy it was built to support. At Gram, we work with organisations to bring culture into conscious focus, clarifying what it is, aligning it with what’s needed, and helping leaders bring it to life in meaningful, measurable ways.

We don’t just run workshops and hand over values statements. Led by our culture expert, Ian Young, we co-design culture change that’s shaped by your strategy and sustained by your people. Whether you're embedding a new set of behaviours, shifting leadership mindsets, or aligning silos to operate as one system, our approach is grounded, human, and built for the long haul.

Our approach

Every organisation is different but the conditions for meaningful culture change are consistent. Based on our experience and extensive industry research, we work through four critical phases:

Discovery & diagnosis

We start with insight. Through stakeholder interviews, system and document reviews, and validated tools such as the Human Synergistics LSI and OCI, we build a clear picture of the current state – how people think, feel, and behave at work. We surface strengths to amplify and barriers to remove. This forms the foundation for everything that follows.

Alignment

We bring people together to make sense of what we’ve learned. This might be an Executive Team aligning on purpose, values and desired behaviours, or a broader group of leaders translating culture into what it means for them. These shared conversations create clarity and connection – and they set the tone for collective ownership.

Capability building

Culture doesn’t shift through posters or policies. It changes when people are equipped to behave differently. We work with you to build leadership capability at every level, from mindset to method. Whether through workshops, coaching, or peer learning, we support your people to apply new ways of working in real-time, not just in theory.

Activation & reinforcement

Sustained change needs reinforcement. We help you integrate culture into the fabric of your organisation – from the way performance is measured, to how decisions are made. Communication plans, leadership rituals, peer coaching, and progress checkpoints are all part of ensuring the change sticks.

What makes our work different

We’re evidence-informed

With access to one of the largest LSI data sets in ANZ (70,000+ profiles), we know what drives constructive leadership and organisational performance – and we use that knowledge to guide your transformation.

We’re system-aware

We don’t work with individuals in isolation. We pay attention to the system they operate in – structure, processes, expectations and unspoken norms.

We’re relationship-led

Culture is social. So is our work. We build trust with your people, create safe spaces for honesty, and move at a pace that allows for real growth.

When culture work matters most

We’ve supported cultural transformation in moments of:

  • Leadership renewal

  • Mergers and structural shifts

  • Post-crisis reputation rebuilding

  • Strategy refresh and realignment

  • Organisational scale-up

Whether you’re leading through complexity or preparing for growth, culture is your most powerful lever. It shapes performance, engagement, decision-making – and ultimately, the outcomes that matter.

Let’s make sure it’s working for you.
